cooperate with unbelievers. Is this true?
ANSWER: It is true that the church of Christ does not condone or promote the
sin of the unbeliever. The unbeliever is of the world. Christians are commanded
to “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the
world, the love of the Father is not in him” (I John 2:15). James said, “know ye
not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will
be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (James 4:4). Christians do, however,
cooperate with those in the world to the extent of being good neighbors (Luke
10:30-37), loving their souls (Matthew 22:39), and preaching the gospel to them
in accordance with the Great Commission (Mark 16:15-16).
